OSBLOCK, a Saint-Henri-de-Taillon company that allows you to erect insulated walls like Lego blocks, is increasingly standing out.
The Jean-based company has just won second place in the Innovation of the Year category at the Recognition Gala of the Quebec Hardware and Construction Materials Association. The gala was held in Montreal on Saturday.
In addition, OSBLOCK is building a new unit next to its factory, which will allow it to triple its production.
LIKE LEGO BLOCKS
Erecting the foundations of a building has never seemed so easy with the pieces of OSBLOCK, which fit together like a set of Legos. This is a real revolution in the field of construction, according to the creator of the product and founder of the Saint-Henri-de-Taillon company, Marco Tremblay. The materials have changed on the outside of the walls, but the construction of the wall itself has not changed. The goal was to revolutionize this world with the shortage of labor that we have and also to be environmental since our blocks are 100% recoverable. This means that there is never any waste on the construction sites, he explained.
There is also its energetic side. It is R32 effective. That means it’s equal everywhere on the wall. So there can’t be bad construction or bad ways of doing things.
The product made of chipboard and polystyrene is sold in hardware stores in Eastern Canada. Building contractors who use it only need a few employees to put the pieces together.
